Leif K. Hansen
Chairman

Mr. Hansen has served in a range of diplomatic missions for the European Commission. In recent years he has advised companies with double bottom line objectives.

 

Susan Gantz
Member

Ms. Gantz's work has focused on social development in Asia. Her substantive and methodological expertise on social capital is a key asset for Socaba.

 

Heinrich Luneburg
Member

Mr. Luneburg provides quantitative methods analysis to Socaba. His work on game theory and agent modeling continues to keep his mind restless.

Peter W. Brorsen
Managing Director

 

Peter Brorsen is the Managing Director of Socaba. He advises on conflict and change in fragile and emerging economies.


Peter has been stationed in the Balkans, the Middle East, South-East Asia, Central Asia, Europe and USA for multilateral and bilateral agencies, foundations, non-profits, news broadcasters, start-ups, consulting firms, and academic research centers since the early 1990s. He holds several advanced degrees and contributes regularly to public and academic debate.

 

 




Hope O'Brien

External Relations Director


Hope O'Brien manages donor relations and ensures timely and consistent communication between field projects and HQ.


Hope has worked in six organizations dedicated to education and youth development.  She has a Master of Public Administration from the University of Washington, and a Master of Public Health from the Harvard Unversity.  She has experience in over twenty countries, including youth development work in Brazil and India, and program evaluation in Mozambique, India, Vietnam, Thailand, and the US.

 

 

 



Chris Cassetta
Legal Advisor

 

Chris Cassetta reviews programming proposals and activities for compatibility and compliance with international law standards.

 

Chris has provided consulting services for commercial, governmental and non-governmental organizations in the US, Europe and Africa. He holds a JD, and has completed post-graduate studies in international human rights and humanitarian law, alternative dispute resolution, and civilian peacekeeper training. Chris has also served as trainer and lecturer in each of these specializations.

 

 





Steven Frandsen
Finance Director


Steven Frandsen oversees financial activities and accounting.


Steven has more than 20 years experience as a government certified accountant, tax advisor and financial manager. He has worked with small family-owned businesses and large international firms. Steven is based with Socaba's main office in Odense, Denmark


 

 



Michaela Ledesma
Program Advisor

 

Michaela Ledesma serves as technical advisor on Socaba's conflict and development programs. She provides support throughout the program cycle and ensures effective monitoring and evaluation.


Michaela brings more than 10 years of experience with government, non-governmental and UN agencies in the fields of conflict management and international development in Africa and the Americas. She holds a BS degree from Georgetown University, and has completed graduate studies in Conflict Management at the University of Port Elizabeth, South Africa.


 

 



Vinci Rufus
Technology Director


Vinci Rufus supervises technology activities at Socaba, including upcoming web 2.0 initiatives.

Vinci's 15 years of experience with technology has evolved from programming over management to now also training of associates and partners. He is passionate about using technology for learning and knowledge sharing among disparate and diverse communities.


As a trainer/facilitator he helps partners boost their capacity and improve business functions.





Mansi Heller
Research Intern, Burma


Mansi Heller has carried out extensive research on Burma, documenting the social movements and the regime's capacity for change. She has previously worked on socio-economic projects in India and rights-based development in the United States. Mansi holds an MA in economic development from Brandeis University.
